July 28, 2015 | Some 15 workers were killed in Cairo this morning as a result of a fire that devastated the furniture factory in the north of the capital Cairo. Nearly 30 others are said to have been wounded and being treated. This latest catastrophe comes after two boats collided on the Nile river causing the death of nearly 40 people.
Cairo suffers from major safety problems, with a similar incident taking place in early May 2015 when a fire broke out in a textile factory in Ain Shams. Unlike today, there were no casualties then.
