Miami, Florida – June 17, 2015 – MEA Risk LLC is pleased to announce that Yasmina Chourfi has joined MEA Risk LLC. Ms. Chourfi will be responsible for developing and strengthening relations with multinational institutions and global NGOs involved in economic development and humanitarian issues.
Yasmina Chourfi is an International lawyer with a degree in Comparative Law from the University of Miami, and 25 years experience as a Senior International Protection Expert at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. She held positions in Africa, Europe and the Middle East. She was a Senior Regional Advisor in Cairo, from where she undertook field missions in sensitive areas including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, and Yemen.
In her international career, she was stationed in many important cities, including Baghdad, Cairo, Ottawa, Athens, Khartoum, Sudan, Lusaka, Geneva, and Kinshasa. Before her international assignments, Ms. Chourfi was a Judge in Skikda, Algeria.
Ms. Chourfi have been active in the promotion and dissemination of refugee laws and human rights. She also negotiated, at top senior levels of government, refugee issues and was involved in peace building efforts. Today, Ms. Chorfi is sought as a consultant and lecturer by NGOs, academics and international institutions.
