Three car bombs exploded simultaneously in the northeastern town of al-Qubbah, located 35km east of Derna, killing at least 45 people and wounding 70 more. The attacks targeted a gasoline station, the local police HQ, and the residence of Ageela Saleh, president of the House of Representatives. The latter was not hurt. Groups affiliated with the Islamic State have claimed responsibility for the bombings, which were carried out in retaliation for the Egyptian air strikes on Derna and Sirte.
